About Messe Frankfurt
Messe Frankfurt's origins trace back over 800 years, with the first documented trade fair held in 1150. The city’s fairs evolved over the centuries, reflecting the economic and cultural dynamics of their times. The city of Frankfurt has been able to leverage its strategic location across major trade routes to evolve into a major European commercial hub, which it remains to this day.
A major milestone in the modern era came with the establishment of Messe Frankfurt GmbH in 1907, coinciding with the construction of the Festhalle – one of Europe’s largest exhibition halls. The introduction of specialised trade fairs such as Interstoff in 1959 and ISH in 1960 marked the emergence of the "Frankfurt principle" – sector-specific exhibitions that encouraged focused industry participation and helped expand Messe Frankfurt’s event portfolio.
Today, the Messe Frankfurt Group is one of the world’s leading organisers of trade fairs, congresses, and events, hosting over 150 events annually across multiple sectors. Headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, the Group employs over 2,300 professionals and operates its own exhibition grounds, while delivering events worldwide through a network of regional subsidiaries.
Since establishing a presence in the Middle East in 2002, Messe Frankfurt has become a key player in the region’s event landscape. The company currently organises 11 trade fairs annually across Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Additionally, the company’s end-to-end solutions offering includes exhibition stand construction and event management, enabling customers to maximise the value of their participation.
